Welcome to Green Go Totes

Welcome to the World of
“GREEN GO TOTES®”,

Born and raised in Santa Fe, New Mexico, just like me, Mary Kay Boulton.

Do you remember when people became more conscious of our environment & began taking a re-usable bag to the grocery store? It doesn’t seem practicle for a mother shopping for a family of ten children, but times have changed. I have finally accepted thati, too, must change with the times, or be left behind. So I began taking my own bag to the store. People that hadn’t yet caught up with the times would tease me that only the “gringos” took their own bag to the store.

I thought, what a great name for my bags! “Green Go Totes”. And there the name was born. Yes, it’s a play-on-words, but very catchy.

With the encouragement and technically skilled assistance of exceptional family and friends, I pursued a Federal Trademark for the name “Green Go Totes”. A year later, after many hours and several hundred dollars, I was granted my Federal Trademark on December 21, 2010.

My passions in life are many, and remain constant. My family; mother, father, siblings. As I ventured out into the world, many more passions were added to this list. A good marriage, extended family, my sons and daughters, my grandchildren. My passion to do my best while juggling work outside the home and my family.

It has taken me a long time to learn to live my life authentically and intentionally. I usually just went with the flow. I now know the I have purpose and meaning, and I am worthy of all life has to offer.

The success of my business has been due to the kindness of family, friends, loved ones, and strangers—just like you. I thank each & every one of you.

All this has evolved from a small alteration Business that I was encouraged to begin in the late 90’s when I found myself beginning a new life as a single person. My children were grown. I had a job and no direction. My love of sewing and the ability to express myself through my sewing had always given me tremendous pleasure. I still work full-time, but my sewing is now my therapeutic passion.

Thru it all, my passion for helping others through my God-given talents have never let me down. I love beautiful fabrics, sewing, and creating one-of-a-kind treasures for my family, friends and now my special clients. I think its time to share these talents so graciously bestowed on me with all of you.

Once people found out how much I loved fabric, they would actually want to give me fabric they had. They were either not interested in the reason they had collected the fabric in the 1s place, or just wanted to make room for their new hobbies or passions. How could I say no? I couldn’t see the gorgeous pieces just toss aside. I soon had an incredible collection of the most beautiful remnants. I could visualize each piece as a special Tote Bag, always with someone special in mind. I started making several very simple bags. The reaction to their gift was so positive! That was all I needed to continue my quest for the coolest tote.

I have since been requested to make more specialized bags, e.g. cell phone pockets, rings for keys, laptop compartments, etc.

I still like the basic bag. The one I take t the Farmer’s Market or to the grocery store. Throw in the back seat or the trunk of my car when I’m done.

“Green Go Totes will always be a work-in-progress, evolving in to whatever someone needs that day.

Keep posted here on my web-site.

The future brings “Green Go Totes” to on-line sales, special orders ans personal requests.
